The international touring exhibition, "Small print – BIG IMPRESSION", which includes 3 prints of Hanscomb's ( 'Old Mendip' - awarded a prize by the judges, 'Camel Valley – Cornwall' and 'Moonrise – Cornwall'), will be showing at Gainsborough's House, Sudbury, Suffolk, from 19th January – 22nd March 2008.
The 6th British International Miniature Print Exhibition, which originated at Gracefield Arts Centre, Dumfries and includes two of Hanscomb's engravings, 'Somerset Landscape' and 'Invasion', will be having its final showing at the Stranraer Museum from 22nd March – 19th April 2008. Opening times are Mon – Fri 10am – 5pm, Sat 10am – 1pm, 2pm – 5pm.
'Hanscomb is currently working on a second small engraving inspired by his holiday last year in Portugal and which will be entitled 'Iberian Moon'
Hanscomb’s latest limited edition book, “The Phoenix”, has been well received and a copy has been purchased by the Print Collection of the New York Public Library.
The standard book, an edition of 60, contains 9 of Hanscomb's engravings each accompanied by a haiku poem by him and is printed on Rives paper, hand made for Edward James in 1935; the de-luxe edition (40 copies) is accompanied by two extra engravings and haiku, printed on Batchelor’s Otter hand made paper and signed by the artist.
